Why should Post Malone win a grammy and why is he the best artist?
As you all might know, or not know, I am a big Post Malone
fan. I have been to every one of his concerts since the 2019 Hollywood’s
Bleeding tour. Now you might be asking yourself, didn’t he already win a
grammy? He’s always there, yes, and he has had 18 nominations, but never WON
any of them. It’s so disappointing since he has won three American Music
Awards, eleven Billboard Music Awards, six MTV Video Music Awards, and seven iHeartRadio
Music Awards. He also has 8 DIAMOND-certified records, including White Iverson,
Congratulations, I Fall Apart, Rockstar, Psycho, Better Now, and Circles, and a
20 time Platinum of Sunflower. So, clearly a lot of people like his music and
he is very accomplished, and yet somehow doesn’t have a grammy. This could be
because the grammies are rigged, *cough* *cough* Beyonce *cough* *cough*, but
lets talk about the obvious objective reasons he should be given a grammy for
any of his albums and why he is simply the best.
Lets
start with the obvious, he has a very unique voice, almost anyone can pickup on
that. He has a very hard vibrato in his voice which I have found in concert is
actually how he sings and is not autotune. This is sometimes very hard to have
in the music world, especially in rap (which he was in for a short period of
time). Also, he is very easily able to rap and/or sing; this is not as unique,
but the fact that he is able to sing well and rap well without much autotune is
very impressive, especially since he has gotten better as he has aged. Another
thing that is somewhat unique to him is that every single album he has is a
different vibe. His first album that was popular, Stoney, had very slow, sad, and
raw lyrics about his thoughts and feelings. Beer, Bonds, and Bentleys was more
of a rap, hip-hop vibe with more rappers on the tracks like Nicki Minaj, Ty Dolla
Sign, 21 Savage, G-Eazy, etc. as well as it was more of a party vibe with
tracks called rockstar, Zack and Codeine, Ball for Me, and 92 Explorer. Next
was Hollywood’s Bleeding that was a little more of a pop album with well-known
tracks like Sunflower, Circles, Staring at the Sun, but still had some songs
with lyrics that were about breakups, such as Goodbyes, Take What You Want, and
Die For Me. In this album, he also had some pop artists, such as Halsey, Swae
Lee, SZA, and Dababy. The next album was Twelve-Carat Toothache, which I’m
going to be honest, I absolutely loved, but a lot of people HATED. I think its
because it was a lot slower, more depressing, and more raw about his drinking
and drug problems than other albums. Unfortunately, some people can’t see how
much he needed to talk about these things, and he is much healthier now because
of it. There were some songs people did like such as Cooped Up, I Like You
(with Doja Cat), and One Right Now, mainly because they were his “branded” type
songs which were more happy and rap. But honestly, the ones I can feel he is
really into the song and put a lot of effort into are Euthanasia, Lemon Tree,
Reputation, and Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol, which are personally my favorite.
Next up he had the album Austin, which is his actual name, Austin Richard Post.
I also liked this album, as it was different from all the others, it was more
alternative with his most popular tracks being Chemical, Mourning, and
Something Real. I believe these were most popular again because they are the
most pop-sounding songs, but the others, such as Sign Me Up, Texas Tea,
Landmine, Laugh It Off, and Novacandy, are really good and most talk about the
struggles he has with being popular and people liking him, but him having to
supplement in order to talk to them or for him not to be upset with people
taking advantage of him. For example, in his song Mourning, he says “I called my
quote unquote friends, do you got plans? Turns out everyone’s free when the
dinner is. Then they drag me to a party out in Malibu, after thirty high noons
it was pretty cool.” For his latest album, well everyone knows it, F-1 Trillion,
a play at the F-150 from Ford. This is his most unique one yet, because it is
country, which is way out of left field for him, and yet he is actually from
Texas (born in Syracuse, but grew up starting at 10 years old in Grapevine, just
north of Dallas). I don’t love country, but I actually like this album (for the
most part). He is able to mix a country vibe and pop vibe in a way that doesn’t
make it sound like Beyonce or Taylor Swift doing country, but like Luke Combs
or Morgan Whallen (I know controversial) and yet still stay true to himself. He
doesn’t have too much of a country accent, but tries to keep the background
track stay as much true country as possible with real instruments. I personally
think my only favorite from this album is Losers with Jelly Roll, but his most
popular ones are I Had Some Help, Guy For That, and Pour Me A Drink, which
makes sense, again, because they are more pop-like. SO, long story short, he
has a very versatile range in terms of music and its amazing how he is able to
explore that in each album and still have fun with it and put everything into
his music. I personally think he should have a grammy just because he has been on
the Billboard Top 100 In EVERY SINGLE ALBUM, with most albums having an extreme
popularity, musically technical component, and raw lyrics.
Other than these music related things, I think he is the best artist. Why you might ask? He is the most down to earth artist out there. When we talk about news with Post Malone in it, its about how he is on a TV show like Ghost Adventures or West Coast Customs and just having fun. Also, he is the least problematic artist, where he is very protective of his girlfriends/fiances and his daughter, as well as the best artist to see in concert. He is so nice, always grateful to his fans, even saying in his 2022 tour “I didn’t think anyone would be out here wanting to listen to my music after 3 years, so thank you so much.” He always takes time for fans and even stops on city streets when people recognize him. He is also always silly with his dancing. He is genuinely the coolest the person I have ever not met and artist, and I think everyone should think about how amazing his music is, even if a certain album is their vibe, he has something for everyone. Live, laugh, love, Post Malone <3.
